PESCADERO COMMUNITY

Pescadero Community

As you already know Pescadero is the official name of the town where Cerritos Beach is, what you probably don't know is much about its people. Pescadero has a small, hard work, growing communtiy which main interests are their families and their farms.

DIA DE REYES

Unites States and most parts of the world have Christmas and Santa Claus, that bring goods, toys and presents to all kids whether they behaved or not. In Mexico we have Dia de los Santos Reyes Magos or Dia de Reyes (Three wise Men), which is better, they are three insted of only one Santa. According to the Mexican Tradition Los Tres Reyes Magos visit the house of all Mexican kids the night on January 6th to deliver presents. All Mexican kids, that only day, wake up at 6:00 am, (or earlier) to see their toys and presents and Pescadero children aren't any different.

On January 6th, Head of the Ejido, Carmen Higuera with the help of few of us organized a Dia De Reyes Party and put togehter a great party for all those childrens within Pescadero Community that aren't lucky enough to received the Tres Reyes Magos in their houses.

With your help, we'd love to make this an annual event and see these little fellows smiling from ear to ear on this so especial day for all them.

If you wish to help us making this a reality, please get in touch with us to send you more information.

CHILE AND STRAWBERRY FESTIVAL

Pescadero people other love is their farms production, based on cooking herbs, Chiles and Strawberry. Last April 4th & 5th Pescadero presented its first Festival del Chile y la Fresa, it was a great event to promote among local stores and big name stores like Walmart their production to convince them to buy direct from them and sell their produce locally.

The Governor of Baja California Sur, Narciso Agundez was there to cut the ribbon and wish to the Pescadero Community Ejidatarios the best of the luck getting their products into the local markets and to congratulate them for their great Primer Festival del Chila y la Fresa success.
